Sneak Peek

One of the first places I like to go when checking out a new blog is to the "About Me" section.  I want a little peek into their life and family.  To me it's fun to read about other families who in many ways are similar to mine, especially with their decision to homeschool.  So with all that said, let me give you a sneak peek into my life. 

My name is Andrea, I was born in 1977 (You do the math!).  I am a mom to three amazing little girls.  That's right three girls!  Lots of hormones and emotions in this house!  But let me back up a little bit to life before kids (Wait did I have a life before kids?  It's so hard to remember?!).  God called me the summer before my senior year of high school into the ministry.  To do what...I wasn't sure? To go where?...I had no idea.  I just remember standing to my feet during a chapel session at summer camp when the guest speaker gave a call for those who felt called to ministry to stand.  Later in my senior year of high school I made two decisions that have forever impacted my life.  First was to go on a missions trip to Papau New Guinea, which I did shortly after graduating.  Absolutely life changing experience!  And secondly, the decision to attend LIFE Bible College in southern California (now called LIFE Pacific).   I attended LIFE for 4 years and graduated with my B.A in Theology and minor in youth ministry.  Best decision I ever made!  And best of friends I have ever made!

 

My firstborn darling daughter is 11, and is growing up more and more everyday!!  She was quite a challenge during her toddler/preschool years.  Never thought I would make it out alive.   But we somehow survived that challenging stage and she has come out the other side to be such a joy!  She is very animated, loves to sing & dance, loves worship, loves to ask a million and one questions about deep topics, and loves anything girlie!  She has quite a fashion sense too.



2 years and 1 month after she was born along came middle darling daughter who is 9 years old.  I sailed through the baby/toddler years without any problems....until her 3rd birthday.  Darn it, thought I would have it easy the second time around (ummmm parenting is NEVER easy).  She is my sneaky one of the bunch and often in her own little world.  We call her "lover girl" though because she is very affectionate.  She loves anything hands-on but especially bouncing balls, doing puzzles, playing in the mud and pretending my couch is a jungle gym.  We finally got a backyard playstructure to take care of that problem!  She is our little monkey! 

 



My youngest darling daughter came 4 years and 12 days after #2!   I was out of the baby stage and it felt strange knowing I would be returning to the world of babies and doing it all over again!  But of course I have loved every minute of it!  "Sweet Pea" is now 5!  She says to me on a daily basis, "Mommy I like you" or "Mommy I love you".  It is the cutest thing ever!  She loves to play with her dolls, dance, dress up in princess costumes, and keep up with her big sisters!  She is a cutie patootie in every way!  She is also my only left handed child.

 

 





A few other must knows about me:  I love Thai Food, eat a gluten/dairy free diet, enjoy researching anything homeschool related, and love having my kids home with me!  To keep my sanity though I do look forward to my Monday night mom's night out with friends! I am so thankful for all the incredible women in my life!  I started running back in 2012 and although I never liked running in the past, it has become a new enjoyment in my life!!  Feel free to check out my running page! I have a reason to get up earlier than normal and get a good jump start to my day.  I also love reading books....and stick to mainly encouraging books on parenting, homeschooling and my Christian walk.
